Berkeley Helps Durham Win Campus Cup in front of Record Crowd
Friday, September 11, 2026

Shantia Berkeley and her Durham College team-mates captured the Campus Cup in front of a record-breaking crowd, edging cross-campus rivals Ontario Tech 1-0 at Vaso's Field. More than 2,000 supporters packed the venue for the first time in the event's history, creating an electric atmosphere for the high-stakes local derby. Following a fiercely contested, goalless first half, the Lords seized the initiative shortly after the restart. Daelynn Tulloch sparked the decisive breakthrough, whipping a direct free-kick on target from just outside the penalty area. While the Ontario Tech goalkeeper managed to parry the initial effort, Erin Michalicka reacted sharpest to bundle home the loose rebound from close range. With the advantage secured, Berkeley and the Durham defensive unit stood firm across the final forty minutes, repelling late pressure to preserve the clean sheet and lift the silverware for the second time in three seasons.
